OPENING CHARITY DRIVE will be held on Friday 29th September at 1pm.

FREE OPEN SESSIONS are Saturday 23rd September at 10am and Friday 6th September at 1pm.

These free sessions are designed to encourage more people to participate in the sport. No special clothing is required, just flat soles shoes, slippers or thick socks.

Members of the club will be on hand to answer questions and provide refreshments. New bowlers will have the opportunity to participate in further free sessions.
So why not come along and give it a try

Welcome to the new Indoor Bowls season. We look forward to making new friends and renewing old acquaintances. I hope you have all enjoyed a successful summer and are looking forward to staying dry. I would recommend that you support the Friendly Matches as well as the Leagues and representative games and that you all have a successful season.

THE 2016/17 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Congratulations to the Veryan Men – Winners of the CCIBA Top Team Trophy and The Bergen Shield.

Congratulations also to Barbara Rowe on being awarded her County Badge.

In March Veryan had the honour of hosting the CCIBA Indoor Finals.

2016/17 CHOSEN CHARITY

The Club’s chosen charity for the 2016/17 Season was The Cove based at Treliske Hospital. As a result of the Charity Drive and other fundraising activities by members we were delighted to present a cheque of £650 to their representative at our Annual Luncheon.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 2017/18 SEASON

The club has been fortunate to have secured the services of Ken Tinkler as the new Club Secretary. Although a relatively new member Ken has extensive experience of club management having been Secretary of Darlington IBC for 15 years and estimates that he has played at over 60 Indoor Bowls Centres around the country! Ken has been fulsome in his praise for the wonderful facility at Veryan and the friendliness of members and of the commitment of the Management Team especially Ann Greaves as Acting Secretary.

A VACANCY exist for the position of FIXTURES SECRETARY. Please contact Ken Tinkler or a member of the management Committee for details.

PRE SEASON PRACTICE SESSIONS

Men: Tuesday 26th & Thursday 28th September at 6.00 pm

Ladies: Monday 25th, Wednesday 27th & Thursday 28th September at 10.00 am

NEW RULES FOR INTERNAL LEAGUE MATCHES

Although all League Teams should be 3 players, for the new season on a trial basis, teams will be permitted to play with two players. All members especially team captains should familiarise themselves with the rules which are included in the Newsletter and displayed on the notice board.

CHARITY FOR THE FORTHCOMING SEASON

Will be the ROSELAND YOUTH SAILING TRUST which seeks to encourage young people to participate in water based sports activities.
